Beginner and Super Affiliate Internet Marketing Handbook

Pulsar Marketing has compiled a review which internet marketing companies should employ to attract and maintain beginner as well as super affiliates. This affiliate handbook of concerns was derived from affiliate interviews conducted by Pulsar Marketing, and are listed in two categories: Beginner Affiliate and Super Affiliate.

Beginner Affiliate:

1) Most beginner affiliates are primarily concerned about technical support, including:
* Control Panel Navigation
* Link Insertion
* Marketing Tips
* Direct Phone/Email Support

Note: Affiliate managers must treat every beginner affiliate as a potential super affiliate, which can easily occur if provided the support and tools necessary to succeed.

2) At number two, beginner affiliates need an explanation of the banner/link tracking process. Beginner affiliates are not knowledgeable of statistical data such as EPC rates, and they are not sure if they are being properly awarded leads and sales for their clicks. Many beginners do not fully understand that every click will not necessarily result in a commission, nor why some programs convert better than others. This also leads back to the #1 concern: Affiliate Managers need to educate beginner affiliates about demographic targeting and how to squeeze the most revenue from their traffic volume.

3) Beginner affiliates also ask for help with their site layout. To almost every beginner affiliate, their site creation is the cream of the crop. Many beginners are asking for a critique, expecting the affiliate manager to give a positive response. Affiliate managers must offer constructive criticism to help beginners mold their site to be profitable, and not simply avoid the issue. If the beginner's site needs modifications, express it to them. It doesn't do any good to hide the truth, neither for you nor for the affiliate.

4) Beginner affiliates seek tips on marketing their web sites, either via search engine keyword bidding or through offline resources including flyers, business cards and newspaper ads. Affiliate managers need to first help beginner affiliates with their site layout before offering advice on marketing, to make the most from the affiliates' out-of-pocket advertising dollars.

5) Technical jargon is also a problem for beginner affiliates. Terms such as conversion ratio and EPC are meaningless without definition, and beginners have little knowledge of HTML, javascript, php, etc. Affiliate managers must not assume all their affiliates understand these.

Super Affiliate:

1) Other than the credibility of an affiliate marketing network, the number one concern amongst super affiliates is a tie between payout-rates and payment schedules. Super affiliates can quickly master an affiliate control panel, and they fully understand marketing jargon, so they are focused on maximizing their revenue potential and getting their payments quickly. To retain or to get super affiliates, affiliate managers must meet the payout-rate and schedule needs. For example: Pulsar Marketing offers its affiliates high payouts on a schedule less than Net 30, plus a personalized Pulsar Marketing Visa Debit Card so they don't have to wait for a check to arrive by mail.

2) Link tracking integrity and accurate statistical reporting is the next highest, super affiliate concern. Affiliate managers must be keen to check their tracking tags/codes daily on all their affiliate programs for accurate, active placement. Pulsar Marketing reviews every campaign on its networks daily to look for any possible tracking problems. One way affiliate managers can quickly identify potential link problems is to scan programs daily (not weekly) which received clicks but did not result in any leads/sales. For such programs, check the tracking tag/code and perform a test. If there was a tracking problem, correct it immediately and do the honorable thing: Reward leads/sales to the affiliates who generated clicks, based upon the programs average EPC rate. By keeping a watchful eye on your tracking integrity and rewarding earned but uncredited leads/sales, your super affiliates will likely continue business with your marketing network.

3) Flexibility is the third, super affiliate concern. They are seeking innovative marketing methods beyond typical banners and textual links. Super affiliates are very well versed in php, javascript, etc. The problem with many affiliate managers, is that for one reason or other, they restrict how affiliates may market their programs. This is a shame, because super affiliates are not prone to committing fraud. They became super affiliates by providing quality traffic, and have built a solid reputation by name. Pulsar Marketing offers affiliates innovative marketing options, such as form hosting and direct search marketing link ability.

4) Fair treatment is the next super affiliate concern. No affiliate wants to be treated like just another number, particularly a super affiliate. Affiliate managers must realize that super affiliates are indeed their bread and butter, and that beginner affiliates are their potential bread and butter. Pulsar Marketing treats all of its affiliates as VIPs (Very Important Pulsar Partners), and gives them the power to earn more and the prestige they deserve.

5) Every super affiliate may not require direct phone/email support, but they need to know it is available if they ever have a question or concern. When a super affiliate does contact you, he/she is expecting an immediate response and resolution, which you indeed owe them since they are your prime revenue producers. Pulsar Marketing offers direct telephone support as well as online support.

By following our beginner and super affiliate handbook, affiliate managers can retain and get super affiliates as well as beginners who can become super affiliates.
